Questions, gently answered

If yours isn't here, write to us at hello@pawflame.com — a person will answer, kindly.

How long does the memorial stay online?
Forever. The memorial page never expires — the page, photo, tribute and messages always remain. Only the candle itself fades: after 7 days on the free option, or after one year on the yearly candle (which you can renew anytime).
What is the difference between the free and the yearly candle?
The free candle burns for 7 days and then gently fades — the memorial stays. The yearly candle ($19) burns for a whole year, unlocks a photo gallery, carries the ✦ mark in the Sanctuary, and 15% of it is donated to no-kill animal shelters. We remind you gently before it fades, and renewing is one click — never automatic, always your choice.
Where does the donation money go?
15% of every purchase goes to no-kill animal shelters. We publish every donation openly — amount, shelter, and date — so you can see exactly how remembrance becomes help.
Do my friends and family need an account to take part?
No. Anyone with the link can light a candle for your companion and write in the book of condolences — no registration, no app, nothing to install.
Can I edit or remove the memorial later?
Yes. When you create a memorial, we email you a private management link. From there — or simply by replying to that email — you can ask for any change or for the memorial to be removed. We handle every request personally and gently.
Is my email address shown publicly?
Never. Your email is used only to send you your private link and, if you choose, a yearly remembrance note. It is never displayed and never shared.
Is it silly to grieve this much for an animal?
No. The bond with an animal is real, and so is the grief when they leave. Research on pet loss consistently shows it can be as deep as any other loss. That is exactly why this place exists — so the love has somewhere to go.
What payment methods do you accept?
Payments are handled securely by Stripe — all major credit and debit cards work. We never see or store your card details.
